Client : Nilam Boutique
Nilam Boutique is a fresh online portal based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The task requires me to design a logo to be something like feminine touch since it will be use for online portal selling female clothes like blouse, jackets, suits and other beauty accessories.

At first the client came up with the idea of a combination of damask and chandelier. Later on, I came up with a concept of Malay traditional damask kind of style with an English chandelier style. As for the font type, I manage to get the solution by choosing a correct typeface which are solid + serif + simple. The Damask comes with brownish+ goldfish color scheme in order to make the logo look more fabulous and stylish feel of tones.

and below are the final sample that the client love very much. After few tweak and enhancement on the typeface, it took me no trouble to complete the color scheme process.

Client : De Lepa Holidays Sdn Bhd

‘Lepa’ is a Bajau language means a wooden boat used by the Bajau community mostly in Semporna, the Southern part of Sabah, Borneo Malaysia. The boat is made of solid wood called ‘Ubar Suluk’ and sometimes ‘Seraya Merah’, Lepa has been used as the main transportation since over a centuries ago by the Muslims travelers and traders.

Black + White

Lepa boat are made mostly by the people of Nusalalung village at Bum-Bum island nearby Semporna, and it believed that this island is the origin of where Lepa boat came from. A typical Lepa boat usually measured around 5 meters long and 1.5 meters wide, it comes with a tall and sharp head on the front which called ‘tujjah’ and usually comes with two types of sail called ‘lamak bua’an’ (bigger sail) and ‘lamak kapi’ (smaller sail). Lepa boat also attached with a small house placed in the middle of the Lepa boat body, this small house comes with a palm leaf roof .

Today, although the original shape and body design has been gradually evolved, Lepa boat are still been used as main transportation by some small groups of Bajau in Semporna and nearby island. There are such annual event called ‘Regatta Lepa’ organised by the local tourism since th e year 2005, this cultural event held to commomerate the value and history of the Lepa boat itself.

Earlier, the client has requested me to come up with a logo that can incorporate Lepa boat to the terms holidays, finally after multiple numbers of sketches submitted, this was the one that my client has approved. Talking about the color proofing, at first I paint the logo with soft ocean blue tone and strong Black for the wording, however the tone of Apple Green has caught my client’s attention with a combination of neutral Gray color for the wordings at the end.

Client : Karma Studio

The latest project I’ve been doing was designing a logo of one Tattoo shop called Karma Tattoo for Karma Studio. The client was looking for a concept which is something similar to Asian tattoo, so I come up with this design which have some Borneo tribal patterns. I used a combination of three basic colors for the logo, Black the most common ink color for tattooing, Gray tone is closest to Black which makes the color more vibrant, While Red is bright enough to highlight the word ‘Karma’ as per what the client has request.

Even though I’ve never experienced of having a tattoo on my skin before,  I must say Tattoo is a great form of art. I’m enjoyed working with this design, the client are happy too with the final work they get and currently I’m working with few series of their new Tattoo design.

Client : Arumdawo Tours & Travel Sdn Bhd

Arumdawo Tours & Travel Sdn Bhd providing various types of exciting and adventure tour packages around Sabah, Borneo Malaysia. ‘Arumdawo’ is actually a Korean word, which means ‘beautiful’ for pretty. Read the summary on the logo design process after the jump.

After a further consideration by the client, a ‘Raflesia’ flower has been added on to the design (far right) as an addition to Mount Kinabalu in the middle. ‘Rafflesia’ is actually the largest flower in the world which can be found in Mount Kinabalu, Borneo.

After…

Lastly, as you noticed, the word Arumdawo has been straighten and the typeface has been replaced to be more serious looking instead of cursive fonts.

As we all know, Barack Obama just recently set a history in the American political scene where Obama is now officially the first African American to be elected as the 44th President of the United States. Today, I’m not going to write about politics here as I prefer to write more on what is making the Obama campaign a major success towards his carrier as a politician other than his courage, families and the people.

I must say the Obama 08 logo has made an important role for Obama’s presidential campaign, it’s not just a logo, it’s more like a voice of ‘change’ from the peoples of America. Thanks to the head design team for Obama 08 logo, Sol Sender, who is now a strategist for VSA Partners.

Here are some of various design of Obama 08 logo design.

Below is the final design, as you can see the shape of ‘O’ stands for Obama while there were red and white stripes which are symmetrically horizontal.

At the final stages, some minor adjustment has been made, the red and white stripes is been changed to look more dimensional.

The logo was designed for a blog music call LifeDemo. Belongs to one talented guy named Kay Stanford who enjoy playing guitar and listen to Alternative, Acoustics and Modern Rock music. The idea of the logo is to look something like the 80’s style of fonts with a guitar of Fender American Standard standing in the middle.

The Meadow Office Suites logo is designed for a business suites company in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo Malaysia. The design mainly focus on a typical office setting like computer, chairs and office table with a concept of countryside meadow and for the view of the background like trees and hills.

A company based in Sabah, Borneo Malaysia, offering a services of fully equipped tent accommodation in modern comforts for tourist like free and easy backpackers. The bug represents a happy tourist of traveling backpackers who live and sleeping in a modern fully equipped tent where they can enjoy outdoors with all the ‘creature’ comforts.

Client : JADE, Pool and Bar

If you are looking for a new place to hang-out in Kota Kinabalu town, a nice place to enjoy your drinks while listening to a cool and nice music, JADE is one of the fresh spot for you to visit. The theme color was Black and bright Green, I’ve come up with the final logo by producing a simple handwriting font with a shining elements to make the logo outstanding from its darker background.

Client : MSAS Enterprise

A company runs by a young local entrepreneur from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is registered for civil and building construction and also providing service design & build furniture. At first I’ve come up with a few sketches focusing on the wording MSAS, playing around with the typeface style combination but then after few discussions, the client pretty much like the logo to emphasis more on the letter ‘M’.

On the final stage I’ve come up with a solid logo focusing more on the letter ‘M’ while I use a color combination of bright red and solid black to make it tougher look.
