The competition has made its overall winner, with ‘My Medicine’ to be the final theme for all contestant.. here is the 1st place champion and overall winner, Jorge Lopez. He made a stunning wallpaper design with his own style and he made one unique centre point emphasizing the title of the song with his typography style.

Here are the Round 2 winners of Snoop Dogg Wallpaper Design Contest at Crestock, most of the wallpaper submitted are well designed that brings party kind of feeling, round 2 comes with a theme call ‘Life of da party’ which really impressed me a lot. Get inspired folks..

My favorite would be the 1st, 4th and 9th. I still choose the 1st as the best because Jorge Lopez manage to brings out purple color as the mood of party kind of feeling, as for the 4th, I like the colorful wave pattern which brings cheerful mood to the black background, while 9th is because the composite drawing is kind of unique.

“Using the file’s Red, Green, and Blue Channels, I found which color contained the most contrast that enhanced the important details. I copied the information and pasted it into new layers. I used a series of blend modes and layer masks to bring out striking detail and retain great value and color. I employed burn/dodge layers to emphasize shadows and finally employed sharpening and blurring to make every little “Character” jump off the page. “

The Contest starts on 13 Nov and ends on 12 Dec, The Crestock Photoshop Contest 2007 works with a total of four rounds and on every round a set of source photos from Crestock image library will be supplied. Your entries had to be based on one or more of the given photos, but the contestants were free to do with them whatever they wanted, as long as one or more of the source images could be recognised as a central part of the design. The winners are determined 40% by public vote, 60% by Crestock highly qualified judges’ votes.

Linotype is having a EURO 15K prizes contest among the invited designers around the globe to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the famous legendary Helvetica™ typeface.

The contest goes through voting the best posters among the best of over a thousands posters in round 1 (November 6th - November 16th) and the best 200 will proceed in the second round (November 22nd - December 7th) for another voting to declare the final winner on January 2008.
