Desktopography - Wallpaper Design Inspiration

No matter you are PC or Mac user or even Linux, desktop wallpaper is the first thing will appear on your computer screen and to me it’s part of my inspiration the first time I’m open up my computer to start design work. Here I would like to share with those who don’t know, a gallery of superb, stunning, quality artwork of desktop wallpaper call Desktopography.

Desktopography is a non-profit and fun project which is started in 2005, all desktop wallpapers are made by selected good designers around the globe which can be download for FREE. Since the year 2005, there are four exhibitions which collected many of good quality desktop wallpapers for designers to get inspired.

Street Art or Vandalism

How you define street art?.. Street art is an art of something unique + creative which usually developed in open public areas in order to get attention from people who pass by the area or merely showing of a message to the public through the artwork itself. Below are some of the creative piece from one of street artist from England, Banksy. Check out how he combines his art to the surround environment to become such a creative piece.

Twenty-Six Types of Animals

Typography is one of the main important elements on graphic advertising. How many of you designers out there are really concentrating on typography style and creativeness? Maybe most of you don’t.. but not like this guy, with almost reach 10,000 views over his Flickr account, a young creative guy from US, Jeremy Pettis, has done stunning work of art in typography on his Senior Thesis at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design in 2007. It’s a set of A - Z typography style creation base on animals, ‘Twenty-SixTypes of Animals’.

The Crestock Photoshop Contest 2007 - Round 2

The Contest starts on 13 Nov and ends on 12 Dec, The Crestock Photoshop Contest 2007 works with a total of four rounds and on every round a set of source photos from Crestock image library will be supplied. Your entries had to be based on one or more of the given photos, but the contestants were free to do with them whatever they wanted, as long as one or more of the source images could be recognised as a central part of the design. The winners are determined 40% by public vote, 60% by Crestock highly qualified judges’ votes.

I defined colors with CMYK values and built a color library. My illustrations feature pure color surfaces, linear and radial gradients, adjustment objects, transparencies, and various fill methods. ”

Movie Poster Artist

Have you ever wonder who’s behind the movie posters like E.T or Star Wars or even Indiana Jones?

Drew Struzan, an illustrator and also a living legend artist for over 30 years in arts industry has made most of his artwork portfolios as an icon since you and me was a little kid until now. Drew’s has made a great collection of good quality movie posters drawings like Back To The Future, E.T. the extraterrestrial, Star Wars Episode 1, Harry Potter, Cuttroat Island, Hell Boy, Pan’s Labyrinth and the latest one was Indiana Jones and the Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.
