Roald Dahl was born in Llandaff, Cardiff, Wales in 1916 and he was one of the world’s bestselling authors for children books. Among his better-known children books is The Gremlins (1943), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (1964), Matilda (1988) and James and the Giant Peach (1961). During his young age, Roald loved stories and books, he even had a diary when he was 8 years old. His mother was his biggest influence as his mother was a great teller of tales. Roald has won several awards during his writing carrier since the 50’s, he first won the Wins Edgar Allen Poe award and Mystery Writers of America award in 1964 and keep winning few years after.
